Interview with 8.2 Ingenieure BW: What Inspires You?

One trait that consistently sets 8.2 engineers apart from others in the field is their drive and passion for their work. But where does this passion come from? We down with engineers from 8.2 Ingenieure BW to ask them what it is that keeps them excited and inspired in their work at 8.2.

Swen: Environmental Protection and Sustainability

“For me, the passion in my work lies in making a direct contribution to environmental protection and sustainability. Through the development and maintenance of wind turbines, I’m helping to promote clean energy sources and reduce the world’s CO2 footprint. I am also fascinated by the technology behind wind turbines themselves. The technology and the complexity of the mechanics behind the development and operation of wind turbines are extremely interesting to me. Every day, I am motivated by the knowledge that my work could protect our environment and leave a world worth living in for future generations.”

Jan: New Perspectives

“I am particularly fascinated by the change of perspective in my work. Having previously worked in the design of wind turbines and therefore at the beginning of their life cycle, my current position at 8.2 allows me to gain deep insights into the effects of the design on the operation of the turbines. This experience enriches my understanding of the entire life cycle and functionality of the wind turbines.

It’s a unique opportunity to see how the concepts I designed work in practice, and what role they play in the context of energy production and environmental sustainability. This comprehensive view of the cycle of a wind of a wind turbine opens up new perspectives and challenges and drives my passion for sustainable energy solutions.

Benjamin: Fascinating Machinery and Technology

The operating principle of a wind turbine is easy to understand to understand. The kinetic energy of the wind is converted into electricity. This simple principle is realized by a complex machine in which thousands of components play their part. This tension between this simple concept and fascinatingly complex technology inspires me again and again.
